Coaching

“I have become more confident in my abilities and taken on roles and challenges that I doubt I would have contemplated without coaching. The sessions have made me often view situations in a different way, manage difficult relationships and also help me look at my behaviour and how that has contributed to positive and negative situations and develop strategies to move forward professionally and personally”. Collette Davies

Coaching is a powerful method to help people achieve real,  measurable and sustainable results.  Coaching is usually one-to-one and conducted face-to-face.  It is provided by telephone if preferred.  Halland Solutions also offers group coaching.

Coaching sessions are structured to enable the coachee to focus on the issues they want to address in order to develop personally and professionally. Coaching is frequently undertaken to support people through specific situations such as handling difficult relationships, establishing oneself in a new role and career development.

The coach and coachee agree a coaching contract,  which sets out the frequency and duration of the coaching sessions. Typically, for an individual, these are for 1.5 – 2 hours every 4-6 weeks,  and are frequently for between 4 and 6 sessions.  This generally provides sufficient contact time to work through issues and embed change and development.  Additional support in between meetings can be arranged by phone or e-mail.

Executive coaching may require a different pattern, such as  6 sessions conducted over 12 – 18 months. Each coaching contract leads to an agreed plan, to help coachees sustain the growth they have achieved whilst in coaching.

Benefits of coaching include:

  • Heightened morale and confidence
  • Improved interpersonal skills
  • Increased ability to resolve issues independently
  • Gain in competence
